Laboratory Manager

SUMMARY: Plans and directs activities of chemical laboratory by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may apply. 
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs programs for research, product development, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinates research and analysis activities according to regulations, manufacturing processes, etc and approves lab modifications.
  • Reviews research, testing, quality control, and other operational reports to ensure that quality standards, efficiency, and schedules are met.
  • Prepares reports and technical papers and interprets results of laboratory activities to laboratory personnel.
  • Advises management, technical personnel, and representatives of other organizations of activities.
  • Bring new technology to Betco.
  • Develop new test methods when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Other duties may apply.  
  • Teach wet chemistry testing including but not limited to titrations, pH determinations, foam testing, solids determinations and refractometer readings.
  • Teach the use of specialized equipment necessary to perform testing including but not limited to Viscometer, FTIR, HPLC, Flash Point tester and centrifuge.
  • Be able to train others specialized techniques in order to perform testing including but not limited to floor finish application, glass cleaner evaluation, and sample preparation.
  • Be able to take samples from manufacturing tanks, raw material containers and storage tanks.
  • Must keep good records and communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Must be computer literate.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum 4 year science degree. Prefer 3-5 years lab experience.
Regional Manager

This individual will be responsible for managing Betco business with distributors in the assigned region, including chemical, equipment, process and programs. Individual is responsible for the growth of all product categories and for handling all questions and training for distributors as well as end users in the assigned region.

A Bachelors Degree in sales, business or related area preferred with five plus years of direct industry sales experience or facilities experience desired. Experience calling on distributors, as well as a proven track record for sales growth in assigned region or territory.
