Malodor Counteractants

Reducing restroom odors is a balance between proper cleaning and using the complementary odor control. Perception of restroom cleanliness is a function of sight and smell. Betco’s malodor counteractants maintain the perception of cleanliness between cleanings with complementary fragrances that enhance the end user restroom experience.

SmartScreen^TM

To complement the SmartValve™, Betco’s technical team developed the SmartScreen™ to counteract the odor and scale build up from urine and hard water. The patent pending SmartScreen is infused with Neutrabond™ Technology to ensure the restroom smells clean throughout the day. Neutrabond Technology is a specially developed combination of malodor counteractants and fragrances that gradually release to chemically bond to microscopic malodor compounds, such as sulfur and ammonia, rendering them odorless and non-toxic. The non-Para block is further enhanced with biodegradable chelating agents and four (4) proprietary non-pathogenic strains of bacteria that quickly break down organic matter and attack odor causing bacteria at the source. This action keeps restrooms smelling clean and prevents the build-up of scale in urinals and pipes. The SmartScreen gives you the confidence to convert flushing urinals to water free urinals. Clario^® Air Care System

The Clario^® Air Care System consists of a dispenser and metered aerosols that provide continuous odor control in restrooms. These products contain fragrances that are complementary to the SmartScreen™ fragrances and are infused with Neutrabond™ Technology. Neutrabond Technology is a specially developed combination of malodor counteractants and fragrances that chemically bond to microscopic malodor particles neutralizing the malodor completely rather than just masking them. These aerosols are formulated to produce little or no fallout insuring safe surfaces for occupants and not harming flooring material or finishes.

Barrier Fluid

Barrier Fluid is an oil-based compound designed to float on top of liquid in a water free urinal cartridge, a flushing urinal well or in a floor drain. This compound puts a physical barrier between a liquid and the atmosphere immediately sealing in bad odors at the source. It contains a non-staining blue colorant which produces an aesthetic advantage in restrooms and adds an additional level of odor counteractant for high use or large restrooms. Barrier fluid is available in three (3) complementary fragrances and a neutral non-fragranced version for those applications when additional fragrance is not wanted. Each case of barrier fluid comes with a proportioner with graduations for easy dispensing from quart bottles.
