  • The Right Prescription: Revamped Crete Rx™ Concrete & Terrazzo Maintenance System

    Jan 18, 2024

Crete Rx Concrete & Terrazzo Maintenance System offers cleaning professionals and facilities with the ultimate flexibility and simplicity to protect and maintain pristine appearance levels on cementitious floors. This is accomplished through 2 prescription pathways, which include specific steps for each maintenance phase and a streamlined product line with reformulations for better-looking floors and longevity.

    Cleaning and Coating System

The new Cleaning and Coating System adds gloss and substantial protection against wear, stain, and etch on pre-polished, non-polished, and previously coated concrete and terrazzo floors. With minimal equipment, less intensive labor, and procedures similar to VCT, achieving optimal floor appearances is easier and quicker than ever.

    • Routine: Daily cleaning and optional burnishing
    • Interim: Top scrub and recoat
    • Restorative: Strip and refinish

    Featured Products:

    • LiquiShield, a new and improved water-based concrete guard that improves gloss and has an excellent stain and etch protection rating.
    • LiquiStrip, a stripper formulated with solvents that easily remove permanent guards and coatings without diamond tooling.

    Honing and Polishing System

The improved Honing and Polishing System mechanically grinds, hones, and polishes pre-polished floors with bonded abrasives to cut and refine the surface for an impressive, natural-looking gloss. While labor and training are more intensive up front, the low maintenance and highly durable results can last years before interim and restorative maintenance are needed.

    • Routine: Daily cleaning and optional burnishing
    • Interim: Polishing
    • Restorative: Honing, polishing, and stain remediation

    Featured Products:

    • Stain Defense, a new and improved product that contains penetrating polymers to seal off open pores and prevent stain and etch.
    • DensiClean, a cleaner with densifier that maintains hardness while suspending the toughest soils.
    • SI Pads, cleaning and burnishing pads that continually fill porous concrete with sealant.
    • LiquiGrind, a honing compound formulated with proprietary nanoparticle abrasives that increase cutting effectiveness.
    • Densifier, a densifying compound that hardens and strengthens floors, plus improves abrasion, wear, and chemical resistance.

One program, two pathways. Crete Rx revolutionizes the way concrete and terrazzo floors are cared for through either non-polishing products and procedures for a simple, more accessible route to maintenance and gloss, or honing and polishing products and procedures for a more robust route to maintenance and gloss.

  • New and Improved BetcoBest® LM for Major Cost/Labor Savings

    Jan 5, 2024

    BetcoBest LM

BetcoBest® LM with Scuff Resistant Technology has a new and improved formula that makes it the most effective labor-saving finish on the market. It’s formulated with MMT/50 Macromolecular Polymers that uniquely combine large polymers with the highest solid content and low viscosity to slash strip/refinish and top scrub/recoat time, labor, and overall cost.

    40% Less Labor

Compared to conventional 20% finish that requires 6 coats, only 3 coats of BetcoBest LM are needed, which results in a 40% labor savings or $1,000 on average per location per project.

    50% Less Product

50% less product is needed thanks to 50% larger polymer molecules that fill surface voids more quickly and 50% higher solid content that leaves more finish on the floor per coat.

    2X the Gloss

BetcoBest LM provides 50% higher gloss with fewer coats, leaving a lasting impression with minimal burnishing.

    2X the Speed

Overall dry time is reduced by 50% because BetcoBest LM dries in the same timeframe as conventional finishes but requires fewer coats. Stripping is also 50% quicker, as the first coat builds more quickly without penetrating deeply into the floor for easier, faster removal.

    Scuff Resistant Technology (SRT)

Thanks to Scuff Resistant Technology, BetcoBest LM provides exceptional durability and effectively repels and resists unsightly black heel marks. SRT forms a protective barrier on the surface, preventing scuffs and marks, maintaining the floor appearance for an extended period.

    Case Study

An American food distributor and grocery retailer’s floors, maintained by a building service contractor, were not meeting their high gloss standards within a reasonable timeframe. BetcoBest LM was put to the test on their floors against their usual ultra-high speed floor finish, and they discovered a $125,000 savings potential across all locations. Significant time and cost were eliminated, and they opted to make the switch. Click here to read the full case study.
